Gowalla launches iPad app [PICS]
As the geolocation battle continues between Foursquare and Gowalla, it looks like Gowalla scored a big win with the launch of an iPad version of their app. The Gowalla iPad app hit the App Store yesterday, so I downloaded it this morning and gave it a test-run on the iPad. I’ve always liked the look and feel of the Gowalla app on the iPhone, and it looks even better on the iPad. When you first start-up the app, the main page is a huge Google Map of your location and you can see where your friends are nearby. You can tap on their faces to see exactly where they are or where they last...

In case you’ve missed it, there is an all-out geolocation battle going on between Foursquare and Gowalla. Both mobile apps were represented well at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) conference. Earlier this month I blogged about how Facebook was planning on changing “Become a Fan” to “Like” throughout Fan Pages. It looks like Facebook has started rolling out this change today. According to Facebook, “When you click “Like” on a Page, you are making a connection to that Page. The Page will be displayed in your profile, and in turn, you will be displayed on the Page as a person who likes that Page....
Read MoreFacebook changing “Become a Fan” to “Like”
Facebook has begun alerting advertisers that they will be making a small, but significant, wording change. Instead of clicking “Become a Fan” to start following a brand, users will now have to click a “Like” button. Why is Facebook doing this? According to Facebook, the “Like” button offers “a simple, consistent way for people to connect with the things they are interested in … in fact, people click “Like” almost two times more than they click “Become a Fan” everyday.” I think brands will be able to adjust to this change, but I think it could...
