Back in September, I blogged about how Facebook Spam was becoming a big issue. The DIG team at Engauge manages several Facebook Pages and we’ve battled spam for months. Finally, it appears that Facebook is starting to provide admins with tools to combat spam on pages. Below is a notification that was located above Facebook pages for admins.
According to Facebook, “Facebook is now helping Page admins ensure that the most valuable content posted by users on their Page wall is more visible to anyone viewing the Page. We are now offering automatic content filtering on Page walls that will ensure that posts soliciting spam are removed from public view as well as ensure that posts containing good content remain more visible.”
Hopefully this feature will work and help admins by removing inappropriate content off of the page. Have you noticed excessive SPAM on Facebook Pages? Does it bother you?
