Facebook has 250 million mobile users
Facebook announced today that it has a total of 250 million users actively using Facebook mobile on a monthly basis. Mobile usage of Facebook has increased significantly. Just over a year ago Facebook had around 100 million mobile users per month. Facebook also announced that it will be simplifying its mobile presence on m.facebook.com. Previously, Facebook has had two primary mobile websites: touch.facebook.com and m.facebook.com (apparently there are a lot of mobile users who access Facebook from the web and not from native applications). According to UK data from comScore, time spent on Facebook via mobile is off the charts. Facebook’s mobile users spent 2.5 billion minutes on Facebook mobile in December (see chart below). It should be noted that this is UK data, but I would bet that we would see something similar for US data (maybe even more extreme figures).
