Mashable most mentioned brand at SXSW
In a recent Ad Age article, chatter at SXSW was examined to see which brand was mentioned the most. To my surprise, the most mentioned brand wasn’t one of the 10 official sponsors, but it was the social media news site Mashable. The top 10 most-mentioned brands at SXSW were Mashable, Twitter, Google, foursquare, Facebook, CNN, GroupMe, Tumblr, Microsoft and Instagram (see chart below). Day 3 at SXSW (March 13, 2011) started off with an early morning panel on Daily Deals: Where Ads Become Content. Panelists included the founders of the following deal sites: LivingSocial, Yipit, Group Commerce, and DailyCandy. After a brief introduction of each daily deal website, the panelists discussed the future of the daily deal space.
